This will be a great FREE fun activity for the entire family that wants to try Kayaking!

That’s right; we’re taking the kayaks to Pittsburgh’s oldest park, Allegheny Commons, to help beginners get started on picturesque Lake Elizabeth. We’ll begin with some basic paddling instruction, get fitted with a life jacket, and then take our stable beginner-friendly kayak for an easy unguided 20-minute paddle around the lake. After making your way around the island and under the arched footbridges a few times, you’ll be ready to hit the region’s larger lakes & rivers.

Kayaks, equipment and instruction are provided.

Children under 12 may paddle a tandem kayak with an adult.

TSS and Caregivers welcomed!

Find the lake (roughly) near the corner of North Ave. and Brighton Road, near the National Aviary. Program sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Also bring a blanket and picnic basket dinner to enjoy afterwards in the beautiful park!
